Privacy policy and data protection in Salt Ship Design

Salt Ship Design AS (Salt) is responsible for personal information registered and processed in connection with employment or any business activity which may require use of personal information. Salt is committed to handle personal data in a safe and secure manner, and any handling and sharing of personal data within Salt or to third party is subject to the company’s HSE & Privacy regulations.
This Privacy Statement represents the online privacy policy applicable to Salt and its subsidiaries.

2. Use of personal data
2.1 When you visit www.saltship.com
Saltship.com is the Salt’s website. Any visit to this website results in data collection through cookies related to your device, IP-address and your use of the website. This information is used for tracking user patterns.
2.2 When you contact us
In case you contact Salt, such contact might result in collection of personal data, e.g. name, e-mail, phone number, address and other information you provide in order respond to your enquiry or question. This information might be stored in Salt’s CRM-system. By submitting an e-mail to privacy@saltship.com, you can anytime request a review of what information is stored.
2.3 Recruitment
When you apply for a job, either through our website application portal (www.saltship.com/ career or by paper copy, we collect your name, contact information, CV, education, competence and skills, career and work experience, certificate, references and other relevant information.
We use this information for assessing your profile versus the position in question and will retain the information for future relevant vacancies.
In case you file a general application, you can upload your CV to our website www.saltship.com/ career. Your profile will be made visible to applicable line managers with a recruitment need.

2.4 Pepper user account
Salt use in-house developed software tool for collaborative design and engineering, in particular for document handling during sales, project development, project delivery and after sales. All users (internal and external) have their own user account where the following personal data is mandatory to be stored; name, role, company, e-mail, phone number, photo (if made available). When the user account expires, the user profile remains stored in Pepper.
2.5 Customer management
Salt processes business-related information on our customers and their employees to manage sales, project deliveries and after sales support. Contact information such as name, address, position, phone number and e-mail might be stored in Salt’s CRM-system.
2.6 Supplier management
Salt processes business-related information on our Suppliers and their employees to manage subcontracting or business interactions during sales, project deliveries and after sales support. Contact information such as name, address, position, phone number and e-mail might be stored in Salt’s CRM-system.
2.7 General
Salt may process personal information related to our business partners and their employees necessary for legal obligations, e.g tax and accounting, background checks, security clearance and information relating to legal proceedings.
3. Sharing of personal data
Salt may share personal data within the company, company’s subsidiaries or trusted suppliers (secured by data processing agreement) when necessary to fulfil a request or for entering into an employment contract or in otherwise where sharing is necessary. We do not share your personal data with third parties except where such sharing is necessary to provide services, and only to the extent it is necessary for them to deliver the services.
Salt may share your personal data with public authorities or governments if required by mandatory law.

Salt will process your personal data securely and will apply and maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, including where the processing involves the transmission of data over a network.

You have a right to information about Salt's processing of personal data concerning you and to receive information of which personal data being processed. You also have the right to have inaccurate or incomplete personal data concerning you rectified or completed. Under certain circumstances, you can request erasure of your personal data or that the processing of the personal data shall be restricted. You may also have a right to object to the processing, including if the processing is for direct marketing purposes.

You have a right to file a complaint to Salt regarding compliance with the violations of your rights under applicable data protection law. You may file a complaint to the IT/Security-Manager by using email; privacy@saltship.com.
You will receive the result of the complaint handling within four (8) weeks after we receive the complaint. If, due to the complexity of the complaint, a response cannot be given within the four (8) weeks period, you will be informed accordingly and provided with an estimate for the timescale within which a response will be provided.
In case a complaint is rejected, you will receive the reasons for the rejection.

Salt may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. We only post a specific notice on our website in case such updates are major and have a material meaning for your rights or the way we use personal data.
